Doctor Who Toys

Since the launch of Doctor Who: The Next Generation, okay, that's a bit American, but, in truth, since the relaunch of the much loved BBC series, there have been many cool Doctor Who toys available. Yet it almost didn't happen, for in the run up to the first Christmas period following  the relaunch there were hardly any toys available, not least because none had been manufactured lest the new series was a flop. Indeed the first of the new Doctors, Chris Ecclestone hadn't even signed up for a further series later citing that he didn't feel comfortable with the entire set up. The series went to air in hope rather than expectation. And hopes were realised.

Once the success of the new series of Doctor Who had been confirmed with David Tennant firmly installed as the new and perhaps 'best ever' doctor ~ okay, at least on a part with Tom Baker ~ the Doctor Who toys industry went into overdrive creating toy monsters, action figures, gadgets and other collectable toys for the Doctor Who enthusiast young and old.
